Turkey Season Spring 2009

Brent got this beautiful bird the first week of Spring turkey season. This was my hardest season of hunting - really only started last year - and I thankfully saw a lot of birds. I think we figured out the perfect set-up the last 3 days of season, but unfortunately, no bird for me this year. Now I have 11 months of drooling anticipation!!!!

And there's always reminiscing about our fun Indiana Turkey Hunting experience. That's a story for another time. (: At least Brent got one - even though it had to be a jake, so the colors are very similar to our Rio's here in Oklahoma, as opposed to being the true Eastern, which are beautiful. Silly people stole that one from Brent. ):
Turkey fun facts: there is an idea that Benjamin Franklin preferred the Turkey as the national bird of the United States from a letter he wrote to his daughter in 1784, where he criticized the choice of the Eagle and suggested the Turkey as a better alternative. How fun is that? (source: Wikipedia)
