Our Trip to Galveston Island

We were blessed to lead worship once again for the Texas State Youth Convention in late November. This year it was right off the seawall of Galveston Island. We had beautiful weather and a slammin' good time! Brent and I lost our voices once again, but it was well worth it.
We went to the Rainforest Cafe on Seawall Boulevard for lunch on Saturday. They didn't quite cook Ryan's chicken, so he got the meal for free, and we got a free Volcano!

We hung out on the beach for a while. They had a bunch of wharfs that jetted out along the beach we were at, just like in the picture. On Saturday night, all the kids went to the beach for
communion. The story from the Bible about the first communion in the Bible was read, then a drama was done on one of the wharfs as we watched from the sand. Our good friend from college and convention director, Tim Jones, read to us everything Jesus had gone through during his suffering and crucifixion. It was so powerful. Then our group went out to the end of a wharf to sing for a while, then take communion together. It was so beautiful and peaceful. God is good!
